Coffee and Plants is LA's first fully plant based, 100% vegan coffeeshop, as touted by LA times, Vegnews, LA bucketlist and many other outlets. Our Pasadena location is our OG location, it is the one that started it all 5 years ago! We have an amazing team who loves to work hard but also joke around! Our team is close to each other, great at communication, team work, handling busy times and big lines but we would love to have one more awesome person join us and therefor we currently have an opening on our team for an amazing barista with prior coffee experience! If so, then YOU might be the one we are looking for! Here are some things we are looking for: HARD SKILLS Prior coffee eperience- MUST have worked at a coffee shop before, sorry no exceptions. Knowledge of coffee machinery and equipment Knowledge of coffee brewing and extraction methods Familiarity with different coffee beans, their origins, profiles, and characteristics Ability to operate coffee-making equipment in a safe, clean, and expert manner Basic math skills for payment equipment and drink metrics Ability to multitask and prioritize Knowledge of essential food preparation, cleaning protocols, health codes, and generally accepted coffee principles Ability to troubleshoot equipment and think outside of the box attitude SOFT SKILLS Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask Reliability & attention to detail Team player with responsibility skills Ability to take initiative & strive to achieve the best possible outcome Excellent customer service skills Happy, outgoing attitude and uplifting energy- VERY IMPORTANT Friendly smile If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
