We have no “bricks and mortar” store. Our sales are virtually 100% internet-based, and we sell worldwide. Our eBay feedback is more than 60,000. This is a fairly big little business. The art is fascinating and varied-masks, carvings, textiles, baskets, beadwork, clay, metal, beads, and ethnic jewelry. We buy from more than 100 African traders, who come to our driveway from both coasts. We are one of the biggest eBay sellers in Colorado. We seek a long-term person who will be a joy to work with. The biggest responsibilities will be packing, product photography, Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom, listing on Shopify and other platforms, order pulling, and customer service, plus a wide range of other duties requiring decent writing and computer skills. In a small company such as this, some of the division of work depends on the interests and skills of the people we hire. One former staff member (now runnio9ng a Manhattan gallery after getting her MFA in New York) ) spent some of her time here as the second author of a book on Yoruba art, which we published. **Overview:** Duties: * Order pulling and packing Customers often often combine orders from ebay, etcsy and our website, international shipping poses its own challenges, and our inventory of more than 20,000 items is daunting. * Physical labor! Carvings, masks, etc need to be carried up and downstairs, the annual (ugh!) physical inventory involves loads of moving. It’s not unusual to be up and downstairs, carrying loads, ten times a day. * Photography We've come a long way from our first few years of using natural light on the dining room table. We have a studio (OK, it shares a room with inventory and the washer and dryer, but still) and generally "shoot" about 50 objects with 1-200 total images a day. * Adobe Photoshop Images need to be cleaned, cropped, tweaked, uploaded, stored, with the right photo codes applied to labels on the objects and a final "quality control" done to ensure color match, etc. * Listing..the lifeblood of the business... Our politics are liberal. The dress code is casual. Lunch is generally a sandwich you bring, but if you prefer a real lunch hour, that's fine; just adjust your hours worked accordingly to accommodate it. Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7 am - 3 pm. Workweeks are generally 40 hours, but we need someone willing to work a bit more when we have a huge order to assemble, owners are traveling, containers arrive from Africa, or I buy 100 pieces in the driveway from an African collector at 2:00, and rain is threatening! Location: United States Compensation: $45 an hour - this is a 1099 - independent contractor position. Employee can work on their own time but must meet deadlines. You will support work under our lead designer. Responsibilities Include: Design visually engaging PowerPoint slides for trainings and workshops, following our established brand style guide, templates, and example slides Ensure consistency in layout, typography, color usage, and visual hierarchy across all training materials Edit and update existing slide decks as needed to reflect new content or design improvements Design visually engaging workbooks following our established brand style guide, templates, and example slides. Skills and Qualifications: Ability to meet deadlines Detail oriented and organized Experience using PowerPoint and InDesign Additional Information: We have sample templates and a style guide. We need a graphic designer who can consistently follow examples. Most of the design work is in POWERPOINT because we are an organization that primarily uses POWERPOINT for our training and workshop. THE ROLE // As a member of the Daybreaker team, you will be welcomed into our global family, dedicated to spreading love and mischief around the world. As a Daybreaker Event Producer & Community Architect ("Producer" for short), you are the face of Daybreaker in your city. You will be responsible for building an engaged and passionate community, producing mind-blowing experiences, and promoting the events to relevant audiences. You will be supported by the Daybreaker HQ team, who will coach and train you to be the best Producer you can be. We’ll provide you with the skeleton of what you need to produce Daybreaker events, grow your community, and uphold the global brand. It’s up to you to bring the hustle, passion, and creative zeal to create unique and refreshing experiences that participants will love. You'll be in charge of finding venues, sourcing talent and performers, cultivating a volunteer production team, coordinating with vendors and sponsors, creating local partnerships, and producing monthly events. We’ll provide marketing, communications, operations, branding, sponsorship, financing, and PR support so that you can concentrate on creating experiences that participants will never forget. Requirements Requirements The ideal Producer should live a healthy, conscious lifestyle. You should have a big heart and love dance music. You should be detailed and hard-working — a savvy and competent professional. You should be active in the startup/tech industry, the health & wellness world, and/or local arts & culture community. You should have a big network of millennials you can tap into, already be leader in your community, and know how to produce a great event start-to-finish that immerses people and transcends the commonplace.
