Single family home is in the desirable Oakcrest neighborhood, Arlington (Crystal City) neighborhood - walkable to the Crystal City metro (1 mi), Pentagon Metro (1.2 mi) and Reagan Airport (1.2 mi). One room is available for rent. Short term, month-to-month or Fall rental is ok. Price includes all utilities and wifi. THREE ROOMS SHARE BATHROOM: Three rooms are on the main level and they share a bathroom. All three have one or more closets, two windows each for lots of light, honeycomb light filtering blinds (not light blocking), and are furnished with basic furnishing if you wish: bed frame, mattress, mattress protector (protector must be kept on the bed at all times), and a dresser and/or night stand. Rooms have overhead light/fan. Furniture is not all encompassing of renters' needs, it basic, functional, but clean and all finishing works properly. Furnishings are intended to just get the renter started and permit a renter to quickly move-in or out, as they need. Bedroom 1: RENTED Bedroom 2: RENTED Bedroom 3: Small sized, considered an office-sized; but in 1940's houses this was pretty standard for rooms. This room is the smallest in the house and has two windows and a small closet. The furnishings in the photos are of a Twin-sized bed frame (single), twin-sized mattress, small bookshelf, dresser, nightstand and lamp. You are always welcome to bring your own mattress or furniture. If you use our mattress, the waterproof mattress protector must be kept on at all times - protector is washable. DESCRIPTION OF THE HOUSE: This community is home to multi-million dollar homes because of its walk-score, closeness to two metros, Reagan National Airport (DCA) and homes are single family. This home was built in late 1940s and had a renovation in 1950s; another renovation in 2016. The home is about $925k in value and you have the chance to live in a very desirable and safe neighborhood. There are two levels to the house. The upper level has the main entrance (front door). Walk-in from the front door, there is a fireplace as you enter. To the right is a small dining area and the left is a living space. The main level is efficiently laid out as the house was built in 1940s. There are 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on this main level, which is about 1200 sqft total - these three bedrooms share one bathroom with tub/shower combo. The kitchen has lots of storage space in cabinets. We have maximized storage space with the cabinetry, soft close drawers and door, and a pantry. The stove is gas. Washer and dryer are in the basement. There are interior stairs that lead down to the basement just off the kitchen. There's an interior (keypad) door leading to the basement. The rest of the house is the basement apartment and is described above. CURRENT RENTERS: We have government staff and a PhD student, who have standard work hours. All are in the mid-30s. All need quiet, no parties, no loud guest or loud noises. House is older and walking in shoes or stomping can be heard in the basement; alternatively loud tv/music in basement can be heard in upstairs rooms. PARKING: Street parking is available for weekends and after 5pm on weekdays - this will work fine for renters commuting with standard work hours. LEASE: Lease is for 3 months and then monthly. Short term is acceptable as long as the 3 month minimum is met. Deposit is same as one month's rent. Monthly rental still requires 30 day notice. MOVE-IN REQUIREMENTS: Move-in requirements (electronic payment is required, such as Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, CashApp, etc): -lease signed (owner will provide), -application complete (owner will provide, no fee), -proof of income (2 months bank statements or 1 paycheck showing year to date income), -deposit (same as rent), -first month's rent to move-in (prorated if moving in in the middle of the month) is required prior to move-in. No pets. No smoking, this includes cigarettes, marijuana, Juul - vaping is smoking and not permitted. One person per room only, no couples, no families. We are looking for a professional individuals, summer interns, people just getting settled into the area. This is not a college group house, not a party house, not a hang out spot or friends crashing for weekends. WHAT IS AROUND: Sport and Health gym is walkable, as is CVS, 7/11, Thai, Japanese, Ethiopian, Italian, Indian, Kabab Palace, and bars in walking distance. Metro is 1 mile away. DCA (Reagan National Airport). ABOUT US: A little about us. We have been the landlords for this shared house and others in Alexandria and Arlington for a long time. Over the time of our ownership, we make repairs and large renovations to each home to stay competitive and provide the best service. We've had two renters with us for 10 years and many more with us for several years; others were only transient as our rentals helped them in a specific part of their life getting settled in this area. This home will see a million dollar rebuild in 2026; thus, we are offering only monthly and summer rental to ensure that the home will be empty for the rebuild. Once rebuilt, this home will be an amazing rental again.
