Hi! We have a spot available starting Nov 1 for a short- or longer-term roommate. **important things mentioned below to highlight** --please answer the Qs at the end when responding so we can get a sense of whether or not this would be a good fit --no dogs really does mean no dogs --bedroom ceiling is short and unfortunately this would not be a good room for tall folks :( ABOUT THE HOUSE: Lovely 1900s craftsman bungalow/victorian hybrid with lots of hardwood flooring, several stained-glass windows, large kitchen w/breakfast nook, two bathrooms (incl clawfoot tub), front porch and shaded back yard w/ firepit, external garage, and large basement w/ washer and dryer and space for crafting. ABOUT THE ROOMMATES: -Queer cis-woman, 40s, pescatarian, into gardening, dancing and summer bike events -20-something opera singer from Hawaii who can be found meditating in the garden, exploring Portland, or on the road with her opera crew. We value a calm and clean home, and have busy lives. Hoping for the same in a roommate. The house has tended to draw roommates who are friendly, like to have occasional meals and game nights together, but are also fairly introverted and tend to recharge in their rooms (which is a pretty good description of the current roommates). Another sociable introvert would likely fit well in the house :) ABOUT YOU: **good communicator, considerate, have a busy life, and are enjoyable company :) **just one person **If you cook meat, it works best when it's minimal in the house (for smell more than ethics, though one of your roommates will be vegetarian). **down with the fact that we keep the kitchen as a pro-social, internet-free zone, and that there is no TV in the living room (except for when we bring one out for house movie night) **CLEAN (yes, this is very important) ABOUT THE ROOM Large, private, basement room. There is a full egress window that is south-facing and there are three built-in lights in the room. 14 x12, provides plenty of space for large bed, desk, love seat, etc. Can come furnished with most things if needed. ***The ceilings are on the shorter side so please keep that in mind*** The room has no shared walls, and is located beneath a part of the house that is almost never used so its a very quiet space. Can come furnished or not. Queen bed available if you want but if you have your own, please keep in mind the box frame wont fit down the basement stairs (i've tried!!). Shares bathroom with just one person. THE DEETS: **$150/mo utilities which includes water, gas, electricity, internet, and trash. **the house is toxic chemical-free (meaning eco-friendly house cleaning products, laundry detergents, etc.) **NO cigs, heavy drinkers/partiers, nor shoes in house **We wont have any pets but could be ok with a cat (with an additional pet deposit) The neighborhood is quiet, friendly, and very centrally-located.
