As Cook, you will report to the Kitchen Manager and some of your responsibilities will include: Assisting Chef/Kitchen Manager in daily activities Consulting with the Chef/Kitchen Manager on a daily basis to ensure that timing of orders and production schedules are coordinated Production of sandwich, salad, entree, catering trays and soup for the hot and cold cases Counter work when needed during busy periods Timely delivery of assigned orders and other orders as needed Assisting the Chef/ Kitchen Manager with ordering and maintaining inventory of fresh, frozen, and sundry products for use in the department Training new kitchen workers and assistants Prepare deep fried, baked, stove top foods, and salads Maintain positive relations with customers, vendors and employees Maintain Health and Safety sanitation requirements Have a current Food Handler card QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year professional cooking experience. The Siuslaw Public Library District has openings for on-call Library Clerks. This fast-paced, public-facing position performs a variety of routine clerical functions quickly and accurately, including circulation functions using a computer system, and requires a commitment to excellent patron and library service. Successful candidates should additionally have a working knowledge of word processing and the internet, and the ability to offer routine troubleshooting assistance for library technology. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three months of experience working directly with the public. There will not be a regular schedule of hours, but selected applicant(s) will have the potential for irregular and occasional substitute hours, including weekend and evening hours, at the Florence and/or Mapleton location. The beginning pay scale for this position is $18 to $19.10/hour, and the full scale continues up to $27.72/hour. Placement on the scale is dependent on education and experience.
