Diesel Mechanic This position ensures that the image of our Company is reflected in the appearance and condition of our equipment and facilities. The Mechanic is to maintain our high standards of safety and extend the life of our assets. Requirements & Essential Functions Inspect, diagnose, rebuild, replace, or repair vehicle parts such as engines, brakes, transmission lines, electrical assemblies, and accessories. Tighten bolts and screws and reassemble equipment and vehicle's repaired, ensuring they are safe and in good working condition. Drive vehicle to test brakes or align wheels. Perform tune-ups, oil changes, and other routine preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, replacing common parts and making adjustments. Lookup and understand the manufacturer's specifications, technical bulletins, service or repair manuals. Follow vehicle repair procedures. Report discrepancies and safety hazards on all vehicles and properties on the appropriate forms. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work independently over long periods of time and in groups within the scope of established rules and regulations. Ability to apply knowledge in multiple areas of vehicle repair. Ability to drive a trolley or conch train in a safe, competent manner on busy public streets and company property.
