The shared space: it’s the top floor of a 100-year old building, above an established tattoo shop downstairs. There is a private entrance to the shared space, with 3 studios, each with a locking private door. We have a beautiful light-filled shared full kitchen with dining table and shared full bathroom. Hardwood floors, beautiful big windows, and a sweet little front porch right on Haywood Rd. close to the Universal Joint. There is dedicated off street parking. Included with the rent is high-speed internet, water + sewer, and lawn care. In addition to the rent, each tenant will pay 1/3 of the electric (average $40/month - so approx. $13 pp), and 1/3 of the gas for the heat (average $65/mont - so approx. $22 per person, but is obviously much higher in winter and negligible in summer). I’m the owner, Elise, I am in the one of the studios and I make handmade lingerie full-time. The other space is a encaustic painter/artist. It doesn’t really matter what you do, and doesn't even need to be creative. It’s not suitable for potters with kilns, or tattoo artists and because of it's location, it also wouldn't work if you want a super quiet space all the time. We each have our own private studios, but have a shared kitchen space, and a great location. I plan to have my space open to the public sometimes for shopping and events, and I do see clients privately as well. I think it'd be fun to have collective openings/events occasionally.
