Woodshop Assistant Needed (Red Hook)

OT/TRA by Zimmerman Workshop is a wood furniture design and manufacturing company based in Brooklyn, run as a sister company to our successful architecture and design studio. We are looking for someone willing and able, with a can-do attitude, someone who is always staying busy and ready to dive in. The role will be to assist the team in any way possible to help us stay organized and on task. You can check out our Architecture firm company here: www.zimmermanworkshop.com You can check out our furniture collection here: www.ot-tra.com We need a full-time shop assistant who can fill the following requirements. • Keep the shop clean and organized • Responsible and reliable. • On time every day. • Eager to help and be a team player. • Be able to help lift heavy objects and materials. • Ready to run errands for the team. • Cooperative, and collaborative, a team player. • Able to follow instructions. We will train you to assist with woodworking including milling lumber, sanding, and finishing at times. • This could be a growth position. The right person could transition into a furniture maker down the road. • At times, you may be called upon to sand or assist in furniture making or related tasks.
