Plant Mechanic/Supervisor (Springfield)

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour Job description: Job Title: Plant Mechanic/Supervisor Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Plant Mechanic/Supervisor to oversee daily plant operations and maintenance activities. This role is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising a small team while also performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities: · Supervise plant staff, assign daily tasks, and monitor performance to ensure production goals are met. · Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery, equipment, and systems. · Ensure all plant equipment is operating safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime. · Coordinate with management to schedule maintenance, repairs, and special projects. · Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and inventory of parts and supplies. · Train and mentor team members on safety, equipment use, and best practices. · Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and company standards. · Communicate effectively with production teams and leadership to resolve equipment or staffing issues. Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school preferred. · Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a plant mechanic, maintenance technician, or related role. · Previous supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred. · Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills; ability to read schematics and manuals. · Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems. · Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. · Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. · Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial plant conditions.
