Upright Engineering is an established Civil & Structural Engineering firm located in Lafayette, CA. We specialize in residential, commercial, municipal, and wetland restoration projects. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Civil Engineer to join our Civil team. This is a full-time (40-hour/week) and in-office position. Previous design experience with grading, drainage, utility, and erosion control plans is required. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepare construction drawings/plans and documents for: residential land development, erosion control, grading & drainage, pavement repair, site improvement, utility plans, etc. • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create surfaces, calculate earthwork volumes, and prepare high-quality plans • Conduct fieldwork to take measurements and make observations • Research and solve technical challenges • Identify and respond to RFPs • Collaborate with team members and work independently to make design decisions • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience with preparing Civil grading, drainage, utility, and erosion control plans • Competence with AutoCAD Civil 3D • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal • Ability to self-prioritize and multitask effectively • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Civil Engineering • Batchelor's degree in Civil Engineering • EIT or PE license preferred BENEFITS: • Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays • Employer-paid health and dental insurance • Employee-paid vision and chiropractic insurance • 401(k) with employer matching • Professional development assistance Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting your resume and cover letter to info@upcivil.com.
