THE POSITION The Associate Architect is an emerging professional that has demonstrated mid-career level knowledge of Architectural practices including client interaction, project scoping and scheduling, conceptual construction costs, building code and Accessibility Standards fluency, freehand sketching, design and drafting software, consultant coordination construction site observation/administration and project close-out. IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The ideal candidate will be a licensed architect with previous experience working with a government agency and/or worked as a consultant on public sector projects. This position is well suited for an individual that has a solid understanding of the entire spectrum of the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. Because there is a wide variety of project types, this is great opportunity to expand one’s technical experience, construction site observation and constructability issues, all within the specialized knowledge of public contracting. In addition to a strong technical background, the ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator that can articulate project goals to a variety of City department representatives, professional services consultants and contractors. To perform professional architectural or interior design work in the creation of designs of City buildings and related projects and the review of public or private building designs. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Atypical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: One year of experience as a Junior Architect with the City of Sacramento. -OR- One year of experience in professional architectural or interior design work under the direct supervision of a licensed architect. Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major work in architecture or interior design or closely related field. Associate Architect: In addition to the qualifications for Assistant Architect: Knowledge of: -City architectural policies and principles. -Principles of supervision and training. Ability to: Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Supervise and train subordinates. As the Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all production equipment are safe and in proper operating condition. Additional duties will be to perform all tasks following the cGMP requirements. Summary: Seeking a skilled Project Manager (life cycle PM) to support the delivery of Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) through effective management of CIP and/or non-CIP projects. Responsible for managing projects throughout all phases of a project, including, but not limited to, business case development for project initiation, study, design, construction, procurement, operations turnover and project closeout.
