Sub-Contractor Deck Carpenter (Durham)

Measure, cut, and shape composite materials to construct decks based on provided blueprints or design plans. Install support structures, such as beams, joists, and posts, to ensure stability and durability of the deck. Fasten decking materials securely to the frame using appropriate tools and techniques. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and project timelines. Conduct on-site evaluations to assess the condition of existing structures and determine the feasibility of repairs or replacements. Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during construction. Maintain an organized and clean work area, including proper storage and inventory management of tools and materials. Collaborate with other team members to maximize efficiency and productivity on job sites. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring their satisfaction with the finished product. Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in decking materials, and new construction techniques. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Deck Carpenter or similar role. (1-3 years experience) In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials. Familiarity with composite decking installation and repair. Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Attention to detail and precision in measurements and cuts. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Physical stamina and the ability to work in outdoor environments. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
