We are a nationally recognized. West Coast Specialty Source (Stack) Testing firm looking for a few exceptional people to fill part time positions out of our Hayward, California office. Projects will include training. Mechanical ability, ambition and being a fast, efficient learner could potentially lead to a permanent role. We operate on the entire West Coast but are specifically looking for personnel local to our office willing to commute, learn and be a solid part of our team. What is stack testing anyway? Stack testing represents an analytical procedure to measure air pollutants emitted to the atmosphere or in regulatory terms: measuring the emissions from an emission point. There are different methods to analyze the emissions from a stack. EPA has published numerous technical methods for stack testing. These highly detailed methods coupled with analytical and sampling hardware and specifically trained stack testing specialists can produce quality emission information. When is a stack test required? The most common reasons for conducting a stack test include: • Satisfying regulatory compliance requirements • Developing site specific or categorical emission factors • Engineering development, and • Guarantee verification The position will start as Part time, up to 30 hours a week and include training, mentorship and instruction on sites. The ideal candidates are technically minded, team players with understanding of mechanics, working at height, safety and most importantly, integrity. As a Rod Buster, you will be responsible for: Placing and securing steel bars or mesh in concrete forms to reinforce concrete structures. Cutting, bending, tying, and installing rebar according to blueprints and specifications. Using tools such as rebar cutters, benders, and tying equipment safely and efficiently. Collaborating with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain safety standards. Requirements Experience: Minimum 5 of rod busting or related construction experience. Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks. Skills: Ability to read blueprints and construction plans is preferred. As a Concrete Finisher you're responsible for: r placing, finishing, and curing concrete to achieve smooth, level, and durable surfaces. They work on a variety of projects—such as sidewalks, driveways, floors, roads, bridges, and other structural elements—ensuring that concrete is properly shaped and meets design specifications. Experience:1–3 years in concrete finishing or a related construction trade. Technical Skills: Proficient with finishing tools (trowels, floats, edgers, screeds, power trowels) Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, kneel, bend, and work in outdoor conditions for extended periods. Knowledge: Understanding of concrete curing methods, mix designs, and finishing techniques. Soft Skills: Attention to detail, teamwork, ability to meet project deadlines. Certifications: OSHA certification or other relevant safety certifications are a plus. Availability: Must be ready to start immediately and work flexible hours if required.
