Are you ready to start your career at MTS? The Construction Safety Flagperson position is a great way for candidates to get their foot into the door at MTS. Join the team and serve the community by playing an important role in keeping construction crews safe on the tracks. MTS loves to promote from within, so MTS’s best Flagpersons are commonly promoted into Train Operators or other fulltime positions! Job Summary: Under the direction of the Assignments Supervisor, the Flagperson protects personnel and equipment while working on or near the tracks. The Flagperson uses various types of equipment, such as flags, whistles, discs, lights and two-way radios to ensure the safe passage of trains. The Flagperson duties primarily consist of three assignments, Switch Tender, Watchperson and Flagperson. The Switch Tender manipulates switches and signals train operators when proper switch alignment is provided. The Watchperson is charged with monitoring approaching trains and alerting work crews to clear the track of men and equipment. Key Responsibilities: • Fulfill orders by assembling cooler boxes or insulated packaging and packing soup products for safe, temperature-compliant transport. • Communicate with internal team and clients to ensure delivery environments meet cold-chain handling requirements. • Manage inventory of all fulfillment/delivery related items including boxes, tape, ice packs, dry ice, insulated bags, etc. • For local deliveries along commute routes, use a personal vehicle to deliver customer orders across Orange County and Los Angeles County, with mileage reimbursement provided per California Labor Code Section 2802. • Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to maintain product quality and minimize delivery time. • Assist the Project Manager (located in Japan) with operational tasks related to fulfillment logistics. • Collaborate with internal team and external partners to ensure compliance with food safety and business regulations. • Provide ad-hoc support for events, photo shoots, PR activities, etc., approximately every 2–3 months (1–3 full eight (8) hour days). • As with any start-up venture, other duties may be assigned as each employee may need to help in other areas that are not explicitly mentioned above.
