This entry-level role requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in various weather conditions, with skills learned through on-the-job training. Duties and Responsibilities • Site Preparation: Demolish existing structures, clean and prepare work sites, and dig trenches. • Form Work: Assist in building, setting up, and removing forms for concrete projects like sidewalks, curbs, and footings. • Material Handling: Pour, spread, and smooth concrete using tools like trowels and screeds. • Reinforcement: Install steel bars or mesh (rebar) to reinforce the concrete within the forms. • Finishing: Apply finishing coats, treatments, or sealants to the concrete surfaces as the project requires. • Tool Operation: Use various hand and power tools, including cement mixers, concrete saws, and air hammers. • Site Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the jobsite, tools, and equipment. • Safety: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
