Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour Job description: Northwest Health Care Linen, the leading medically exclusive health care linen company in the Pacific Northwest is looking for a skilled custodian to join our fast-paced production facility. We are a local, family-owned company seeking experienced industrial custodian to keep us clean and tidy. Overview We are seeking a dedicated Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities. Responsibilities: Performs general, routine custodial duties in office and industrial plant. Operates floor scrubber. Operates airwands Performs exterior seasonal tasks. Assists with office/production rearrangement. Will be trained to operate forklift as needed to empty trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal. Will be trained to operate a scissor lift. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements. May assist or perform snow removal activities and minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities. Will be required to perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assign Qualifications - Previous experience in custodial or related roles preferred - Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices - Familiarity with floor care techniques such as buffing - Ability to maintain cleanliness in various settings including residential and industrial areas - Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently Skills needed Ability to understand verbal instructions. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Ability to operate power sweeper and other related equipment. Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Ability to understand written and verbal communications. This position will adhere to the Northwest Health Care Linen Environmental Health and Safety Program by following all safety rules, procedures, practices, training, and safe use of equipment; this includes use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. This individual will work in a way that stresses the importance of preventing injury, accidents, or illnesses to themselves or co-workers by correcting or reporting unsafe situations, incidents, or occurrences to their supervisor immediately.
