ShareCaregiver needed, male preferred. 8 hours per week, split into 2 four-hour afternoon shifts. Client is a 63 year old male, recovering from a severe stroke. He has aphasia, and a partially paralyzed arm and leg. He is calm, polite and friendly, and sometimes he's a real comedian. Duties are: Provide companionship, and support for completing daily Physical Therapy exercises. Also Speech Therapy exercises. Little or no personal care will be necessary. Previous caregiving experience necessary. Professional experience is good, but experience caring for a relative would also be fine. IHSS certification will be necessary. If you are not certified with IHSS, we will need you to complete the IHSS certification after being hired. It's a quick process. The therapists will train you to assist with his exercises. The client prefers a caregiver who performs all duties responsibly, but is also able to chat casually, and even be silly and playful sometimes. Payment is $25 - $30 an hour based on experience. Weekly hours may increase in the future.
