Full job description Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated caregivers to provide both personal care and companionship to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing quality of life, assisting clients with daily activities, and promoting safety, comfort, and emotional well-being. This role blends hands-on personal care with non-medical support, making it essential for serving seniors and individuals with disabilities who want to remain independent at home. Responsibilities Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support to reduce isolation and encourage engagement. Support clients with meal planning, preparation, and feeding assistance if needed. Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing living spaces. Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social outings as needed. Monitor and document changes in client condition and report concerns promptly. Assist with medication reminders (or administration, if certified and required). Support clients with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, hospice, or mobility challenges. Use equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers when necessary. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and maintain strict client confidentiality. Collaborate with families and healthcare professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality care. Companionship & Emotional Support Provide friendship, conversation, and emotional reassurance to clients. Engage in social and recreational activities (e.g., games, reading, sharing experiences). Encourage clients to maintain connections with family, friends, and community. Assist with planning visits, outings, and social engagements. Experience Previous care giving experience (home health, companion care, assisted living, or nursing home) preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices is beneficial. CPR certification is highly desirable. Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring long-term care is advantageous. Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy required.
