Position Overview Reporting to the Café Supervisor, the Café Attendant plays a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for visitors at Glenstone, serving both the Café and Patio locations. This position is responsible for a variety of front and back-of-house duties, including preparing and maintaining the dining areas, providing table & counter service and barista, and supporting the culinary staff. Café Attendants seat visitors, take orders and special requests using a point-of-sale system, make coffee drinks and other beverages, while also serving, clearing and contributing to a welcoming environment for our visitors and staff. The Café Attendant also supports the culinary team in the kitchen with basic food preparation, cleaning, dish and pot washing, and maintaining daily maintenance and production logs. Desired Attributes & Characteristics The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player, experienced, articulate, professional server with strong presentation skills who can engage visitors in a manner consistent with the visitor experience guidelines at Glenstone. Key Responsibilities Deliver excellent customer service in a dining environment. Be responsive to the Café Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, and Chef to optimize customer service, resource management, safety, and sanitation. Host and show visitors to their tables. Take orders from visitors and use point-of-sale software and hardware. Wash and maintain dishes, glasses, flatware, as well as work areas, coffee machines, table appointments, linens, and equipment. Assist with basic food preparation. Assist with basic cleaning and sanitation standards. Prepare venues for the next service. Enforce HACCP sanitation as well as allergen awareness guidelines. Perform other related duties as require Required Skills & Experience Able to work, four days per week, Thursday through Sunday (mandatory weekends) with varying shift start and end times between 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and 12:30 pm to 9:00pm during the summer months. High level of reliability and reliable transportation to and from Potomac, MD. A valid driver’s license to drive our electric vehicles. Strong cultural competence, interpersonal communication, planning, and organizational skills. Experience in a full-service café, bakery, coffee shop, or restaurant. Excellent customer service skills. Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions. Maintain excellent personal hygiene. Able to lift to 50 lbs. and work on your feet for an entire shift. COVID-19 vaccination and up to date on all boosters. Preferred Qualifications Competency as a Barista. Allergen awareness and SERV Safe certification. Spanish language skills. We have an opportunity for an experienced CNC Citizen Lathe Machinist looking for a 6-9 month, short duration assignment filling in for a machinist on leave. Start immediately for training and work through the end of March 2026.  Possibility of extending employment beyond March 2026 for the right candidate willing to transfer full-time to nights or weekend days (plus shift differential). $29-31 hr. Shift: Days, Monday=Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm With possibility of moving to Night or Weekend days by extending full-time employment beyond the 6-9 months with additional shift differential. Experience Required: 3 yrs. PURPOSE: Program, set up and operate the CNC Citizen Lathe. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up and run machines Schedule and prioritize jobs for CNC Citizen Lathe Check stock for materials needed for jobs Alert Production Manager about parts that need to be ordered Checks tooling on machines Assist in quoting jobs for the Swiss Machine Maintain the fluid levels on machines Grind tools for Lathe OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Train other employees on operation of various CNC lathes, if needed. Perform other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: This position typically requires 3 years experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist. Proficiency in math.
