Local Leaf Hawaii is a fresh produce farm dedicated to cultivating high-quality, local food for our community. Located in beautiful Waimea on the Big Island, we are expanding our operations and looking for passionate Freight Farmers to join our team. What You'll Do As a Freight Farmer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our Freight Farm container farms. This is a hands-on role where you will be directly involved in all stages of the growing process, from seeding to harvest. Your responsibilities will include: Planting and harvesting: Seeding, transplanting, and harvesting a variety of leafy greens, herbs, and other crops. Monitoring crop health: Regularly checking for pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies. System maintenance: Performing routine cleaning and maintenance of the hydroponic systems and equipment. Data logging: Recording important growing data, including pH, EC (electrical conductivity), and temperature. Packaging: Preparing and packaging fresh produce for delivery to our local partners and customers. Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a passion for sustainable agriculture. We value individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. Key qualifications: Experience is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train the right person. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
