This is a one day assignment for Tuesday September 30th from 8am - 4:30 pm Pay for this position will be $18 per hour As a member of the Event Staff you will: Cut meat and add to a plate to showcase the specific product or seafood that will be sitting under a heat lamp You may assist in the back where the main chefs are preparing the meat to deliver to each area on the floor Event Staff Candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration: Experience working in a kitchen or a restaurant is highly desirable Ability to work on your feet for your entire shift Ability to confirm to the dress code for the day that includes All Black clothing with comfortable non-slip shoes (any color shoes) Must be clean cut and well groomed (facial hair is acceptable as long as it is well groomed and not too long) Any visible tattoos must be covered for this event.

Line Cook Compensation: Starting $16-18 to be reviewed in 90 days Employment type: Part time 32 hours per week Line Cook Under the supervision of our lead chef, this position will generally assist in all aspects of creating our finished food offerings. Involves chopping, cutting, mixing, toasting and grilling according to our recipes and standards. The position also includes limited dishwashing and one day a week taking the lead in cooking. Care, safety, pride of work and consistency are top priorities. Key skills also involve teamwork, prioritizing, working under pressure and customer service. General Accountabilities Inspects and cleans food preparation areas or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices. Ensures food is stored and cooked at correct temperature. Ensures freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock. Seasons and cooks food according to recipes. Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams meats, vegetables, and other foods. Observes and tests foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently. Carves and trims meats. Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies Prepare food for service and consumption (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Answer, report and follow chef's instructions Clean up station and take care of leftover food Stock inventory appropriately Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Familiar with industry best practices If you are interested in joining the JACO family, email us at krass@jacojuiceandtaco.com or stop in to pick up an application.
