Description

Cocktail and whiskey program in need of a strong and gracious presence at the door to help us run the floor. We are doing 300 plus covers a night, and our floor staff needs a point person to help facilitate guests' experiences. This is an important position, and requires a strong personality. We want someone who can be the center of the team, deploying resources as necessary and handling situations before they arise. Please have / be able to: - New York hosting experience - Operate in a Maitre D role, rather than simply a "meet and greet" role - Experience in a fast-paced, high end environment (restaurant or bars) - Work effectively in a busy scene (up to 400 covers a night in a small space) - Learn our floor, and be able to control the flow of guests - Know each table on the floor - Where they are in their evening - How best to slot in new guests and tables - How to keep people who want a table at the bar until the table opens up - Be a team player - Passion for food, wine and service. - A strong sense of urgency - Superior communication skills (written, verbal and spoken). - If you can back up the waitstaff as needed (on an emergency basis) even better. Position Overview: The Host at The Roxy Hotel Bar is the first to be in contact with our guests and therefore helps to create the first impression the guest has of our restaurant.
