Negotiable Salary
1029 J St, Sacramento, CA 95814, USA
In need of a fluent Korean speaker who is also a cellist, harpist, or linguistics major. Flute and clarinet folk are encouraged as well. You can also be a Korean speaking digital video colorist, calligrapher, or voiceover artist of the basic narration variety. No cartoons. Think more along the lines of “How It’s Made”, National Geographic, Local News Casters, Google Maps, Garmin GPS, etc. Full, grounding, and informative voices. Everyone must be fluent in Korean. This offer is only for one to four people who have one or more of those skills and are very serious about their study. Preferably four people who know each other well enough for this opportunity(keep reading). There will be a large-ish Sacramento multi-office(many sqft) suite you can basically use for free under a few conditions(not all listed here). The initial months will be in a smaller, but still very opulent, office. The space is for the live broadcast of an immersive learning program, mostly to an Asia based audience, as we purposefully deprioritize the use of English. The main focus is learning linguistics via viewscape & sound design, and lots of handwriting; just Korean for now. You and the team-lead will use live internet broadcasting to share the learning atmosphere. This is a daily broadcast of at least two hours, but you can do more if you’d like. You will make a Kick(NOT. TWITCH OR YOUTUBE) and or TikTok channel and tend to your skill, just only in Korean while using the space. Speak as little English as possible. You can actually even speak other languages, but. NOT. ENGLISH(and mostly Korean). That is an extremely firm rule, as is the Kick/TikTok channel. If you broadcast with YouTube or Twitch, this is not going to work out for you. There is also the option to operate mainly with pre-recorded video, if you’re more comfortable with that. You will be guided through the process either way. As far as technology, you’d just use your phone to broadcast or if you have a whole mobile set-up, that’s ok too. You can prop a phone up on a book or whatever you have. The “below amateur” look works heavily to our advantage. Otherwise, these spaces are for you to practice, and talk about maturing your skill-set. We have office neighbors though, so music can only be played in the evening, unless we can clear the surrounding area. Don’t worry though, there will also be a place(rehearsal room) we can go to be VERY LOUD. It’s a whole other building, but it’s there…and you can literally scream without disturbing anyone. The goal is to earn money and knowledge by doing only what we love, on our terms. You are not employees, you are artists working together. You’re not being “hired” for this, just “chosen” to participate, but also money will flow in your direction by way of long-term consistent effort. For that reason, this is not listed as a “gig”. There will be opportunities for hiring, if you really want. It’s preferred to empower you to be your own employer though. This is a very serious and VERY lucrative language learning experiment. You’ll mostly be reading speech-to-text from the team-lead, even in person, until they can speak usable Korean. However… this operation is not supposed to feel like “work”. It will thrive from your ability to focus on your skill while speaking Korean to a fast learner who happens to have some interesting abilities as well. It’s going to be an easy fun time. The money-making elements of this program are built-in and semi-passive. We are simply operating in this unique linguistics environment and our audience will naturally support that. The financial gains will come to us pretty easily as long as we start as a team. It won’t take a long time either, just a few weeks. More on that later. You’ll absolutely love it. You will need to start immediately. If things go well, we are scheduled to move into the larger, multi-room office suite around Christmas, so we need you here immediately. That sounds “hurried”, but it’s a “hurry to the treehouse/playground” type of hurry. It’s a virtually free space that will enable you to make your own money, via your art, in and away from it. You will not be paying any money to use the space. You’re not signing any paperwork or anything like that unless it’s for building access keys or something. The unique communal workings of the office space are designed to affords us financial gains by way of our natural interaction with each other. That starts as soon as the first person arrives. That is why you have to start immediately. YOU WILL. BE LED. TO VICTORY. YOU. WILL. NGUYEN! This is a very rare and powerful moment. It’s basically magic. Basically. Nothing like this has EVER been done before. Probably. Reply to this posting using ONLY an unlisted YouTube or Vimeo(preferably Vimeo) video link. That means: don’t send any other text in the body of reply. ONLY the link(s). Otherwise, the reply will be auto-deleted. Please talk extensively on how you feel about the opportunity and your skill set. Longer videos will be prioritized. Talk for as long as you can… and yes, in English and Korean, but upon selection, that ends. After selection, we go into interactive study mode and will not emerge for a very long time. Accounts will be set up for you on the first day, so your audience will know how to support you directly. If you don’t feel comfortable with the idea of “handling” an online audience, you can still be very successful here via other methods. Feel free to include other links to your work/study or you can even just demonstrate in the video.
