Position Overview The Design & Installation Manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of cabinet restoration and refinishing projects—from client consultation and design through installation and final quality checks. This role blends technical expertise, project management, and customer service to ensure that every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard of craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities Project Design & Planning Work with salesperson & clients to understand project needs, style preferences. Create design concepts, drawings, and layouts for cabinet restoration or refinishing. Provide detailed project proposals, timelines, and cost estimates. Source and recommend materials, finishes, and hardware, if applicable. Installation Oversight Supervise and coordinate installation teams to ensure proper execution of designs. Review work progress regularly, resolving on-site issues as they arise. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company quality standards. Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships for smooth execution. Team Leadership Train, schedule, and manage installers and finishers. Conduct/ attend regular team meetings to align on project timelines and expectations. Mentor staff to improve technical skills, efficiency, and customer interaction. Customer Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project for the installation process. Communicate clearly on design approvals, scheduling, and installation progress. Handle escalations professionally and resolve customer concerns promptly and report to Sales. Administration & Reporting Maintain accurate records of project budgets, timelines, and progress. Stay within budget. Report regularly to senior management on performance, challenges, and solutions. Implement process improvements to streamline operations and increase profitability. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Construction Management, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in cabinetry, woodworking, construction, or related industry. Strong understanding of cabinet design, refinishing, and installation practices. Proven leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in CAD software or other design tools is a plus. (Cabinet Vision & Sketch Up REQUIRED) Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
