CLEANER/CARETAKER Temporary 8 week position with the potential of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and service-minded Cleaner/Caretaker to join our team for an 8-week position starting as soon as possible. This role is essential to the daily upkeep and cleanliness of our retreat center and plays a vital part in maintaining a peaceful, welcoming, and well-cared-for environment for retreatants, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate understands how their work supports the needs of the Vajrapani Institute community. Key Responsibilities: • Clean and maintain all retreat facilities, including cabins, dormitory rooms, dining hall, main building, offices, and gompa • Assist in preparing facilities and land for incoming individual retreatants and group retreats • Assist in the care and upkeep of the retreat land, including trails, walkways, stupas, and general outdoor appearance • Assist in managing trash, recyclables, and compost in accordance with site protocols • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the smooth functioning of the retreat center Ideal Candidate: • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team • Good communication and organizational skills • Comfortable working in a peaceful, contemplative environment • Has an eye for cleanliness and detail • Physically capable of performing a variety of cleaning and outdoor maintenance tasks • A spiritual practice/orientation • Familiarity with Buddhism • Approved to work in the U.S. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a tranquil and spiritually nourishing space dedicated to personal and collective well-being.
