As we continue to expand, we’re seeking an experienced Service Plumber to join our crew and help us deliver outstanding service to our residential and light commercial clients. ⸻ Job Summary We’re looking for an Experienced Service Plumber with strong diagnostic and repair skills in residential and light commercial systems — including steam and hydronic heating systems. The ideal candidate has solid knowledge of both traditional and high-efficiency heating equipment, along with working electrical knowledge as it relates to plumbing and heating controls. This is a great opportunity for a natural problem solver who enjoys variety and independence — no two days are the same. You’ll tackle a wide range of challenges, from classic steam systems in Boston brownstones to cutting-edge high-efficiency upgrades, all while delivering clean, reliable work that customers trust. ⸻ Key Responsibilities • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and light commercial plumbing and heating systems. • Service and maintain steam, hydronic, and high-efficiency heating systems. • Install and replace water heaters, boilers, pumps, fixtures, and piping systems. • Perform electrical diagnostics for pumps, relays, zone valves, and controls. • Accurately identify and resolve leaks, clogs, and system failures. • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers about work performed and recommendations. • Maintain detailed and accurate service records. • Uphold company standards of professionalism, cleanliness, and customer service. • Collaborate with team members and assist with HVAC-related service calls when needed. ⸻ Qualifications • Experience: Minimum 3 years of residential or light commercial plumbing and heating service experience. • Licensing: Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Plumber license required. • Knowledge: • Steam and hydronic heating systems (old and modern) • High-efficiency boilers and controls • Basic electrical systems for heating and plumbing • Skills: Strong diagnostic ability, attention to detail, and pride in craftsmanship. • Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in tight spaces, and safely handle tools and equipment. ⸻ Compensation • $35 to $60 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. • Performance-based bonuses for quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment in our shop and at various job sites. Equipment includes excavators, loaders, utility trucks, and dump trucks. This role requires hands-on experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment systems to effectively diagnose issues, determine necessary parts, and complete repairs in a timely and professional manner. Essential Functions: Perform repairs and maintenance on brake, drivetrain, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems Troubleshoot issues related to diesel engines, emissions, electrical, and hydraulic systems Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information Identify and determine appropriate parts, tools, and methods for each repair Complete shop paperwork accurately and maintain service records Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Travel to job sites as needed to perform field service repairs Lift, move, and install heavy parts and equipment safely and efficiently Perform repairs and maintenance in a timely and reliable manner Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Technical certification or post-secondary training in diesel or heavy equipment repair preferred 3–5 years of experience in diesel and heavy equipment repair (minimum 3 years required) Experience with Caterpillar equipment and diagnostic software preferred Welding experience a plus Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required Strong communication and teamwork skills Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform demanding repair work
