1985 Pontiac Firebird (project) - $2,900 (Town of Tonawanda)

addressDelaware Avenue Tulane Road South, Tonawanda Town, NY 14217, USA

Description

Base 1985 Firebird hardtop project •$2,900 or best serious offer ( This is a project, but no, I will not sell this for what Firebirds w/o titles or engines/transmissions go for)• Note: I need at least a days notice before meeting in person. Happy to answer any questions if I missed anything below. Runs, drives, stops, and I have the title. You're not driving this home though, it needs to be flat beded due to a brake line leak. Believe I'm the 3rd owner. Have owned the last 18 years and maybe put 1k miles on it. Not pinched for the cash, but we could use the space and health issues prevent me from working on it much.  I'd like to see it go to a good home rather than continue sitting. Unlike many other project Firebirds, I have the title, it has an engine and all the body panels, and runs and drives. No t-tops means less headaches with hidden rot, and the year doesn't have the irritating VATS  system to leave you stranded. It ran much better before, but in attempting to diagnose a fuel issue, I took the carb out of tune. Fuel pump was the issue and it's been replaced and got running again, but carb should ideally be fine tuned to get it running where it was before. Recently had a mechanic friend look at it while over and remark it was a good foundation for a 40 year old car. Mechanical: -Needs brake lines replaced (leaking at center under car), so I can NOT responsibly let someone drive it. -Needs fuel lines replaced for safety ideally (it never failed inspection, but whoever did the swap routed them incorrectly). -Speedometer stopped working two summers ago (it ran 10mph fast  due to swap and I was using phone gps anyways before).  -Originally 2.8L v6 car. Past owner swapped 1987+ (centerbolt hydraulic roller) carb'd 305 v8 w/Quadrajet (E4ME) -I've added Hooker short tube headers into y-pipe -(Pretty sure) Hooker Aerochamber muffler w/dual outlet and chrome tips (need polishing) -3.23 open diff. Other details: -Headliner was replaced at Casullo's -There was very little rust, especially for the year (2-3 small spots) before sanding, but the paint job was faded.  ☆☆ I didn't know it might've been salvageable (OEM not base /clear)  and I sanded the car and treated it with Ospho around 2015, planning to repaint the car another color. I have the removed trim pieces. ☆☆ •Unfortunately, after sanding the paint and starting to use fiberglass filler to skim coat, I realized I didn't have the abilities, health or space to keep going on. It has sat since, so most the rust in pics is SURFACE RUST that's developed from the spots I SANDED down to metal.  (If you think all rust is the same, this probably ISN'T the car for you). • -Needs correct washer fluid reservoir (I might have it) -Headlights manually go up and down (was told it likely needs relay, and I have a whole spare harness w/the relays and spare headlight motors) -Dash bezel is removed and part of dash loosened to get to speedometer cable and replace gauge cluster, but I do have the parts (I also have an extra cluster and bezel w/guages rather than indicator lights) -Left side of center console came unglued, as is common, and could be reattached or replaced. -The dashboard is cracked (I have an extra uncracked one to go with it  for the right price).  Other than that, interior isn't bad. I had the interior detailed after the headliner got replaced. -14" steel and 15" Aluminum wheel sets (plan on keeping 16"Formula) -Weatherstripping old and could be refreshed. -Aftermarket tach needs to be reconnected -I have a vortec 350 block that's locked up I started disassembling a while ago to prepare to rebuild and swap which can go with the car) -Many extra parts if selling for the right price (will update later) ◇Not really interested in trades◇ Contact (TWO 0 TWO) - NINE 0 FIVE - 2402
