Hi all, It’s been quite a while since my gloriously misspent youth, but I’ve spent the past couple of years revisiting my playing and song writing, and have progressed to a point where having some collaborators again sounds fun. I’m pretty capable. My musical influences/tastes are all over the map. I have pro gear, show up on time and in tune, and would expect similar behavior from good collaborative matches. [I do not have share-able practice place.] Current interest: I want to make powerful music that stands up both at the ‘overall impression’ and ‘good sonic details’ levels, creating musically interesting walls of overwhelming heaviness. I’ve had Pelican’s “Flickering Resonance” on repeat for weeks; Russian Circle’s “Gnosis” is another example. Local references: I’d love to play music that fit on a bill between Dreadspire and Snakemother. Vocals definitely NOT a requirement; let’s make strong music first. I love hypnotic/powerful beats and riffs, and can convincingly play swing, funk AND rock. I’ve recently become doom-curious, though I’m still developing the patience for repetition that doom often requires. :) Current DIS-interests: No blues rock, no “cookie monster” / blast-beat metal. No cover-song-based situation (one or two are okay). Here are some demos I’ve recorded, with robot drum tracks. https://soundcloud.com/bbb_999 Here’s me practicing; skip around to hear some examples of the sorts of things I play, ‘by default’. https://youtu.be/Uy9-gSJFrkA?si=m11YwjnOgtOszRei If you think we might be a good fit, send me links to your own playing.
