It breaks our hearts to be writing this, but we are looking for a new home for our beloved German Shepherd. She has been with us since she was a puppy and is truly a wonderful dog—loyal, intelligent, and loving. She is fantastic with people and gets along well with most dogs, though she can sometimes be dominant with smaller ones. She is in excellent health for a senior dog, with regular vet check-ups, vaccinations, and dental cleanings. She does have some mild hip dysplasia, but it hasn’t stopped her from enjoying life and running freely on our 2-acre property. Unfortunately, despite all of her wonderful qualities, she has shown a strong prey drive and cannot be trusted around farm animals or cats. This has led to heartbreaking incidents, and we’ve had to keep her confined more often than we’d like, which is unfair to her. She deserves a home where she can thrive—one without small animals, where she doesn’t have to be isolated or restricted. We are hoping to find a loving family or individual who understands her needs and can give her the freedom, companionship, and affection she deserves. She is well-trained and would be a loyal and devoted companion. We are not in a rush to rehome her and will wait for the right match. This is an incredibly difficult decision for our family, so we kindly ask for understanding and respectful communication. We are asking a small rehome fee to insure she is going to a loving home. Thank you for considering opening your heart and home to her.
