We've had Haru since she was found at a truck stop as a teeny tiny baby (about 5.5 years ago); the plan was never to keep her, or her sisters. We already had too much on our plates. We'd put up ad after ad to find her a good home but nobody was interested in getting the spay done in lieu of a rehoming fee, so we had it done, and then the pandemic happened. Five years later, she has tried really hard to fit in, but she is miserable here and really doesn't enjoy the other cats. She gets picked on often by the others and we have done what we can to try to support her and make her comfortable, but she needs a quieter place to live with fewer animals. Haru is very affectionate and sweet, and she does alright with mellow dogs. She might even do alright with another cat if they're not hostile toward her, but it's clear there are too many in this home that are. We've held off on trying to find her a new home for the past year, trying calming collars, pheromone plug ins, different arrangements of cat structures and litterboxes that give her space from other cats, etc. We do not want to make her an outdoor cat, as we understand how irresponsible that would be. If she cannot find a home with someone who will be a good fit for her, she will have to live in a safe, heated enclosure outside. While we don't mind creating that space for her, it is not an optimal life for a cat at all. We just really want her to be where she will be loved. She has faced rejection from the other five cats in our home for years and it has become unsafe for her. If you'd like to meet Haru, please email me a little about yourself and we will move forward with the prospective adoption. Thank you for reading.
