We're building Onda — a mobile app for experienced surfers to track their sessions, get real-time surf forecasts, connect with their crew, interact & contribute to hyper local communities and receive personalized AI-powered recommendations based on historical data and live conditions. We launched our MVP in July and are growing fast. We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to own our architecture and build something exceptional — with the potential to expand to a parity web platform and robust social experience built on strong marketing + analytics infrastructure. You’ll Lead: - Our cross-platform Kotlin MP mobile app (Android + iOS) - A Python-based cloud-native system built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - Event-driven services using Firebase + Cloud Functions - A modular Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system designed to provide context-aware surf forecasts and recommendations. As a result, initially, we are on a budget until we get proof of concept so grant money can be approved for longer term. We have 40 years in AI experience and programming in house. We are a large value driven VAR working with over 1000 clients in the US. Who I'm Looking For: Someone with ERP Experience with Order Entry, Quote Forms, Purchase Order, and Inventory Transactions. Programming in Visual Studio, using Blazor Forms, C#, Radzen, and SQL Stored Procedures. Full Stack Developer. This is because much of our platform will be looking at accounting data for AI to analyze. Being in business for 45 years we have much of the code written but need to expand and add new features. We currently are using components from Radzen. Ability to work with Visual Studio, Visual Code. We have 50 percent of the AI Chat Bot written. Mostly this is about forming SQL tables with memories, chat history, and other data. You should have some knowledge with Agents. We already have the connections on our chatbot to a local LLM which we are training using vectoring and advanced learning. We have API connections to Open Chat GPT. We are working on connections to Watson, and Grok. You need to know how to work with MS SQL Express and create tables. You should feel comfortable working with API, even if in a teaching environment. Most of the technology is changing so your ability to learn and grasp new ideas is the main feature we need, and of course be a good logical thinking person who can understand how objects work and put them together in working logical format Are you located in Massachusetts (Greater Boston, MetroWest, Worcester County, or similar). The First Project Milestone: Set up a secure Azure server Create a simple webpage.
