ShareJob Summary Teachers at Storybook Village Preschool (SVP) share responsibility for the supervision and care of their classroom. They must be professionally prepared to teach young children, with a strong background in early childhood development. SVP teachers are sensitive, professional individuals who can relate well to all members of the school community and effectively lead a teaching team. They maintain a professional attitude, bring a warm and friendly presence to the classroom, and treat all children with dignity and respect. Teachers must also be able to meet the requirements outlined below. Duties -Provide quality and loving care for toddlers and preschool-aged children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. -Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards. -Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration. -Engage in ongoing observation and evaluation procedures needed to assess children’s developmental levels and support curriculum planning. -Manage pro-social behavior effectively, implementing strategies for behavior management and early intervention as needed. -Facilitate effective and constructive daily communication with families. -Collaborate with other educators and staff to enhance the overall learning experience. -Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized classroom environment conducive to learning. -Participate in recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth. Skills -Strong understanding of early childhood education principles, including the Reggio Emilia Approach. -Experience in teaching in a licensed preschool facility. -Proficient in behavior management techniques to support children's learning and development. -Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, family members, and colleagues. -High school graduation or GED; 12 ECE units in the core required classes (see below) -All of the 12 units required above shall include courses that cover the general areas of child growth and development, or human growth and development; child, family, and community, or child and family; and program/curriculum.
