Dear Post-Sound Mixer, We have a very small theater release of an important yet small indie faith film. We're making the DCP now. We have a major question to ask any post-production sound mixer and we promise to pay-it-forward: We had to lower the theater volume at our screening to 4.9 as the sound mix was too loud or hot. Usually the theater has it set at 7. Would the band-aid way on Adobe Premiere be to lower the entire master by -6 db? Thoughts? Thanks to anyone who can help. Environmental Feature Film — 3 Interns (Producing/Marketing/Research) (Los Angeles)
Important: This is an unpaid, educational internship for the first 8–12 weeks (~10–20 hrs/week). Remote-friendly; Los Angeles a plus. About the project SACREBLEU is a music-driven environmental feature blending live action and animation across nine chapters, following a child “born from the ocean” on a transformative journey through a world choked by plastic. Chapter 1 has been shot as a proof of concept and presented at the 2025 United Nations Ocean Conference, with 13 awards to date (including Best Green & Environment Film — Berlin Indie). Planned geography includes Portugal; current budget approx. $1M.
