Whatcom Community College invites candidates to apply for the Program Coordinator - Library (Class code 107N) position. The purpose of this role is to manage the reserves collection, perform journey level technical services operations, acquisitions and Interlibrary Loan (ILL), engage and inform employees & students of all library services and programs in general (emphasizing the reserve collection in particular) with a goal of increasing student access to primary and secondary educational material as well as contribute to student retention and success. Responsibilities Include but not limited to: Manage Reserves Collections: -Represent and promote the reserves collection program to departments on campus. -Plan, organize, and coordinate reserves program. -Establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse faculty, staff, and students; especially with colleagues who work in the Learning Commons. -Provide information and technical assistance to reserves program participants and library staff regarding content, guidelines, and practices. -Analyze and report program operations and outcomes, monitor and report program activities, and participate in continuous improvement efforts. -Work with Systems Librarian, Technical Services/Manager, and Circulation Services/Manager to inform reserve workflows in the -Library Service Platform. Circulation: -Perform circulation desk procedures such as (but not limited to): checking in and checking out materials, registering patrons, holds, record maintenance, request queues, etc. -Assist patrons with Whatcom Library Collaboration processes. -Assist patrons with questions and refer patrons to appropriate personnel. -Provide training and direction for part-time hourly employees and work study students. -Perform opening and/or closing procedures for the library.
