Quality Engineer

We are a fast-growing startup in the advanced manufacturing/technology sector, scaling up operations and looking to build our Quality Management System from the ground up. This is not your typical corporate QA role — this is for a builder, a systems thinker, and someone who wants real impact.
As our Quality Engineer, you will lead the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of our QMS. You’ll collaborate closely with production, engineering, and leadership to ensure compliance, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of quality across the company.
Design and implement our Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 / AS9100 or relevant standards
Create, document, and maintain quality processes, SOPs, inspection plans, and records
Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits (certification, regulatory, customer)
Develop metrics and dashboards for real-time quality performance tracking
Lead investigations (CAPA, 8D, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis)
Introducing digital tools for traceability, automated documentation, and process validation
Working closely with other departments to ensure understanding and full implementation of the policies and procedures
Train production, engineering and leadership teams on quality practices and continuous improvement
Drive cross-functional collaboration on design and process validations
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related)
2+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, preferably in manufacturing or hardware startups
Proven experience building or leading a QMS implementation
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485
Solid understanding of SPC, FMEA, audits, and statistical tools (Minitab, Excel, etc.)
Excellent communication skills – bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Nice to Have:
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
Experience in aerospace, medtech, energy, or modular construction
Familiarity with Power Automate, Power BI, or other digital process tools

Base Salary: $120,000 – $130,000 (DOE)
