CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking an experienced Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for projects around the Montgomery County, PA area, PennDOT District 6 for the upcoming 2025 Construction season. Immediate consideration for qualified Construction Inspection candidates. Relocation or sponsorship is not available. Local candidates highly desirable. The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS) is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The TCIS prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules; checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment. TCIS may supervise a staff of inspectors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor. Ensure compliance with the contractor’s health and safety plan. Check that delivered materials conform to the contract documents. Check contractor’s layout and verify accuracy. Prepare and submit daily reports of work performed in accordance with CDR Maguire’s and Owner’s requirements. Effective oral and written communication. Follow and convey instructions. Utilize computers and common office equipment. Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Wear required personal protective gear/equipment. React to hazardous warnings and signals. Infrequently perform manual labor. Infrequently work in adverse weather conditions. Limited exposure to chemicals. OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Travel as required and as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor. Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company. Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position. Requirements High school diploma, GED, or post secondary education and can read, write, and communicate in English and do basic math computations for length, area, and volume.
