The Company Halo Industries, Inc., a pioneer in manufacturing innovation with light-based technologies, seeks a highly skilled Staff Laser Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. Our proprietary advancements replace traditional processes with novel light-based equivalents, offering higher quality, lower cost, and enhanced functionality. As we rapidly expand our operations, we're looking for a leader to oversee the design, integration and verification of our prototype system. The Opportunity We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Laser Systems Engineer to design, develop, and test laser-based systems for the semiconductor manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laser physics, optics, and optoelectronics, as well as experience in integrating laser systems into complex applications. This role requires a hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities Design and develop laser systems, including laser sources, optics, beam delivery systems, control electronics, and software interfaces. Model and simulate laser system performance using appropriate theory and software. Conduct experiments to characterize laser system performance and validate models. Integrate lasers into larger systems or platforms. Troubleshoot and debug laser systems and related equipment. Develop and execute test plans to verify system performance and reliability. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals. Collaborate with other engineers and scientists to define system requirements and develop solutions. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in laser technology and related fields. Participate in project management tasks, such as scheduling and budgeting. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations related to laser systems. Requirements Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience (Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred; fewer years of experience will be considered with advanced degrees). Proven experience in designing, developing, and testing laser systems. Strong understanding of laser physics, optics, and electronics. Proficiency in using optical design software (e.g., Zemax, Code V) and simulation tools. Experience with laser sources, optics, and beam manipulation techniques. Preferred Qualifications Experience with laser materials processing. Experience with software for machine control. Experience with project management. Knowledge of laser safety regulations and procedures. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficiency to work independently and as part of a team.
