Position Overview: Civilitude's Field Engineer Principal role is responsible for project managing the implementation of sidewalks, bikeways, and urban trails through the preparation of schematic plans, cost estimates, general permits, traffic control permits, and most importantly, field engineering of accessible sidewalks, ramps, crosswalks, driveway crossings in compliance with ADA/TAS/PROWAG. Individuals who excel in this position are highly organized 3d visualizers, and detail-oriented problem solvers who enjoy collaboration and enjoy fieldwork.  Requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Anticipate travel to project sites (50-75%) to oversee fieldwork per project pace and requirements. Typically, each active construction site is visited daily and construction crews need direction on demo, formwork and PROWAG compliant grades. Available on speed dial to contractors and city staff for questions. Confirm ADA and traffic control plan compliance daily. Perform initial walkthrough of each project assignment with the City Project Manager and GC Superintendent for scoping, and capture the scope by marking up base maps Communicate with property owners, tenants, and other third-party stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. Manage, verify and maintain on time General Permit plans and standard TCP Manage, verify and maintain on budget preparation of cost estimation after scoping walkthrough Ensure preconstruction meetings are scheduled and attended with the GC and City PM prior to construction kickoff. Attend and present status updates to City PM group at biweekly progress meetings Manage the coordination with ATD and ATSD for signals, street narrowing, striping, speed calming, etc. and review schematics. Verify that daily photos are captured using a mobile phone or iPad with GIS/camera app and oversee preparation of daily reports  Ensure that the team is requesting and obtaining signed right-of-entry authorization where access to private property is required to achieve compliance in the public right-of-way Verify that timely RAS inspections, punchlists are handled, oversee the completion of punch list items, and clear RAS reports are obtained. Attend quantity walkthroughs after project completion and review pay app for accuracy Work closely with construction teams to verify that work is completed in accordance with engineering specifications and permits. Review construction documents in the field and address any discrepancies with the project team. Ensure firm invoices are accurate, timely, and interface with clients as needed to ensure timely collection Required Experience and Qualifications: Professional Engineer license in Texas Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management. 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on field engineering. Expertise in managing teams, timelines, client expectations, and quality work output. Expertise in representing the firm in public-facing roles. Valid driver’s license with a favorable driving record. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to solve complex challenges as they arise. Proficiency in using technology for data collection and project management. Positive and professional attitude, with a commitment to promoting safe work environments. Willingness to work onsite in various weather conditions for extended durations. JOB SUMMARY We are a Denver-based low voltage company seeking an Electronics Systems Engineer for a full-time position. We are a small company (less than 10 people) that primarily performs detention security electronic system design, installation & maintenance for facilities in the Western US. Our projects are typically owner-direct and utilize our template systems and components for most projects. This is a “hands-on” engineering position where the candidate will assist with shop assembly and testing of the systems designed. Travel would be limited to day-trips to facilities in the front range (if required), and a typical workday will consist of working from home on designs or at our shop in Centennial assisting with assembly of systems previously designed. TASKS Provide design, value engineering, experience-based recommendations, code/standard review, document completeness, material tracking/expediting, system assembly, system testing, and installation support for projects in Jails and Prisons. Projects will encompass a variety of technology and systems, and will range in duration from a day to a few months, depending on the project size. Systems include CCTV, intercom, access control, PLC integration, SCADA/HMI, conduit install, wire pull and labeling, and possible light metal work. Individuals with limited experience in these areas but with the ability and willingness to learn new skills and accept new responsibilities are encouraged to apply.
