As we rapidly expand our operations, we're looking for a leader to oversee the design, integration and verification of our prototype systems.   The Opportunity We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Optical Engineering Manager to lead our talented team of optical engineers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of laser systems, optical design, and laser materials processing. They will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge optical solutions for our next-generation semiconductor equipment. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage a team of optical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Assign projects, set priorities, and monitor progress to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support the professional development of team members. Recruit, hire, and onboard new optical engineering talent. Provide technical leadership for the design, development, and optimization of complex optical systems for laser-based semiconductor equipment. Lead the development of optical specifications, tolerance analyses, and performance models. Ensure the integration of optical systems with mechanical, electrical, and software components. Drive the development of new optical technologies and solutions to meet evolving customer requirements. Provide technical expertise in laser systems, including laser sources, beam delivery, and laser-material interaction. Oversee laser safety including training, culture, record-keeping and compliance. Experience with high-power laser systems. Knowledge of optical alignment and calibration techniques. Oversee the design and implementation of laser control and monitoring systems. Troubleshoot and resolve complex laser system issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, and manufacturing. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers. Present technical findings and recommendations to management and customers. Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets and report on project progress and team performance. Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Manage vendor relationships and procurement of optical components. Oversee the creation of detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals. Requirements Basic Qualifications 10+ years of experience in optical system design and development, preferably in the semiconductor or laser/laser processing industry, and with a Ph. D in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field Proven experience in leading and managing a team of optical engineers. Extensive experience with laser systems, optical design software (e.g., Zemax, Code V), and optical metrology. Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes. Deep understanding of optics, laser physics, and optical instrumentation. Preferred Qualifications           Experience with laser materials processing. Experience with project management. Experience with machine vision systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience and proficiency to manage projects and teams effectively.  Strong knowledge of optical component selection. Experience in water treatment plant projects and the review of contract documents is required. Must have training and experience in managing and executing quality-assurance and quality control procedures. Responsibilities: • Partner with the project team to understand the contract documents • Work in conjunction with the owner and with the field staff to ensure quality and timeliness of project construction and completion. • Manage inspections process. • Implement and manage the Quality Control Plan. • Oversee submittal review and approval. • Establish testing procedures in accordance with contract specifications. • Manage the punchlist process. • Report to the site Project Manager • Interface with Owner's representative as required and Inspector on a daily basis.
