CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for projects around Clearfield/State College area for the upcoming construction season in 2025. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor. Responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. Prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules. Checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variation. Maintains records of quantities and cost of materials used. Prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment. OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Travel as required a as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor. Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company. Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position. Requirements High school diploma or GED, required. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and perform basic math computations for length, area, and volume. Minimum of one (1) year PennDOT experience or higher or minimum of two (2) years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience. Four (4) years of highway or bridge construction, non-highway or bridge inspection, or highway or bridge design experience and non-inspection personnel must successfully complete the twelve (12) web- based TCI training modules can substitute for other required experience. Civil Engineering or Construction degree can substitute for needed experience. Bachelor’s of Science degree in a non Civil Engineering field with the successful completion of the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules can substitute for needed experience. JOB SUMMARY We are a Denver-based low voltage company seeking an Electronics Systems Engineer for a full-time position. We are a small company (less than 10 people) that primarily performs detention security electronic system design, installation & maintenance for facilities in the Western US. Our projects are typically owner-direct and utilize our template systems and components for most projects. This is a “hands-on” engineering position where the candidate will assist with shop assembly and testing of the systems designed. Travel would be limited to day-trips to facilities in the front range (if required), and a typical workday will consist of working from home on designs or at our shop in Centennial assisting with assembly of systems previously designed. TASKS Provide design, value engineering, experience-based recommendations, code/standard review, document completeness, material tracking/expediting, system assembly, system testing, and installation support for projects in Jails and Prisons. Projects will encompass a variety of technology and systems, and will range in duration from a day to a few months, depending on the project size. Systems include CCTV, intercom, access control, PLC integration, SCADA/HMI, conduit install, wire pull and labeling, and possible light metal work.
