Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Location: Berkeley, CA Job Summary: This role delivers short-term (10–12 sessions), solution-focused mental health therapy to adult patients within a primary care setting. The therapist supports individuals with mild to moderate mental health concerns by providing timely, evidence-based interventions. The position is part of an integrated care team, promoting collaboration between behavioral health professionals and medical providers to enhance whole-person care. Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Salary Range: $81,000 – $90,000, depending on experience Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver brief therapy using evidence-based approaches such as behavioral activation and problem-solving therapy. Support primary care providers with mental health consultations and collaborate on patient care plans. Screen adults and older adults for behavioral health needs, including substance use, trauma, and co-occurring disorders. Provide referrals and linkages to appropriate community services when necessary. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and care coordination. Facilitate therapeutic or psychoeducational groups targeting mental and chronic health conditions (e.g., depression, diabetes). Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Maintain compliance with state/federal laws and ethical standards for clinical care. Requirements Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program. Active licensure in California as an LCSW or Psychologist OR registration as an ASW or AMFT (clinical supervision provided). Solid understanding of psychological assessment, DSM-5, and evidence-based treatment models. At least one year of experience delivering therapy to diverse populations, particularly BIPOC communities. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet navigation. Familiarity with OCHIN Epic or similar EMR systems. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in integrated care or community health center environments. Training in trauma-informed care principles. Spanish language fluency is a plus. Prior use of EPIC for clinical documentation. General Expectations: Adhere to confidentiality, safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness protocols. Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and a professional, respectful demeanor in a collaborative environment. Remain current with clinic policies and procedures, particularly during the first 30 days of employment. Provide culturally competent care aligned with the needs of a diverse patient population. This role is limited to providing services only to established patients within the organization’s primary care network.
