The deck carpenter will be responsible for designing, constructing, and repairing decks for residential properties, ensuring compliance with local building codes and standards. The deck carpenter will work closely with our team of professionals to deliver high-quality results and ensure customer satisfaction. This role requires strong carpentry skills, attention to detail, and excellent craftsmanship. Crews which you will be assigned to will be no more than 5 employees and will travel from job to job together as a crew. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Build and breakdown scaffolds, install ladders, walkways and handrails. Clean and prepare construction sites, including removing debris and materials. Load and unload equipment and materials form truck and vehicles. Maintain fall protection requirements while erecting / dismantling scaffolds. Make sure that tools and equipment are cleaned and maintained properly at the end of each shift. Advise the Project Manager/Customer of any problems with the constructability of the RFDS design. • Review surveys (ground, tower and shelter) as required for each project. • Review project drawings and provide design recommendations. Review and interpret project drawings for accurate SOW/OOM/BOM. Provide input to A&E and Project Managers with drawing redlines when required. • Identify and schedule various sub-contractors/internal crews required for the project build. • Receive and review sub-contractor quotes, change-orders and invoices. Work with Project Controls in issuance of sub-contractor Purchase Orders and payment of sub-contractor invoices. • Ensure all pass through costs are accounted for in the SOW/OOM/BOM. • Provide coordination as needed with utility companies, OEMs, tenants and federal, state and local municipal requirement including: construction permit/inspection requirements, notifications, access, punch lists and close-out. • Monitor WTC crew time that is being billed against assigned jobs. • Participate in pre-construction meetings to clarify the safety, quality, SOW/OOM/BOM, schedule and closeout requirements for internal WTC crews/sub-contractors and ensure accurate and complete SOW/OOM/BOM is in place and approved by WTC customer prior to starting construction. • Monitor safety, quality, and schedule during the course of construction. • Ensure all changes to the SOW/OOM/BOM that occur during the course of construction are being passed through to WTC customer, as real time as possible. • Ensure all closeout requirements are being delivered as real time as possible and within natural cadence of the project. • Participate in post-construction meetings to: verify WTC crew/sub-contractor quality, true-up sub-contractor Purchase Orders, true-up SOM/OOM/BOM, and verify that all closeout documents have been delivered. • Other duties as assigned. We are looking for a Construction Carpenter to join our team in State College, PA! This role will report directly to the jobsite Foreman or Superintendent and requires strict adherence to all Warfel safety rules and regulations, including any site-specific necessities.   Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, beginning at 7:00 AM through 3:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch. Occasional Saturday work and overtime may be required. Travel to and from the jobsite varies; reliable transportation is required. Requirements Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:   Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, HM door frames (knock down and welded), weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware. Install, align, imbed miscellaneous metal and specialty items, such as handrails, bearing plates, lintels, fire extinguishers, bathroom accessories, and various other tasks. Erect scaffolding and ladders for work on structures above ground level Use of appropriate hand tools. Building layout, wood & metal framing, layout and installation of blocking, installing cabinets, and trim and casing. Perform a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as selective demo, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, and cut and attach insulating material. Will be required to assist other carpenters or Warfel employees in the performance of their duties. May be required to operate hand and power tools as well as operate company equipment and vehicles. Ability to supply basic tools required for the position (such as tool box, hammer, nail bag, etc). A full list will be provided during interviews.
