$895 Room w/Private Bathroom in Veg. House (Seattle)

Quiet, meat free household seeking fourth roommate. We are SUPER SAD that we are losing our awesome roommate, but it brings good news for you and new opportunity for us! Here's the run down... - Meat Free Home - Private in room bathroom - 3 month lease w/ option to stay longer - $895.00 per month- Does not include utilities. - No pets Grab a snack and a beverage folks! This is a pretty thorough read. ;) **ABOUT US:** We are four (1 cat/1 gal/2 guys) warm and friendly folks. We all have reliable full time employment. We work long hours including weekends, and deeply value our down time. We go to bed early, get up early, and keep a pretty quiet house. We enjoy good food, good conversation, and a wide variety of music. We keep a clean house, and are big into recycling/composting. Some of our interests! *I love meditation, yoga (for beginners made of glass), smoothies, playing records, babying the house plants, dad jokes, talking to the cat- Luna, and making a fool of myself. *He loves going to the movies, history, stand-up comedy, all things Batman, singing in the shower, eating mass quantities of tacos, and teaching people how to swear in Spanish. His favorite quote is from Kung Fu Panda, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.” *He loves antiquing, making fiber art from second hand materials, crocheting and knitting, and sells his patterns and art on a small online business. He has a great sense of humor and makes the two of us regularly crack up. *Luna is our friendly 2 year old kitty. We found her early morning, dumped in downtown Seattle and she's been our roommate ever since. She answers to her name, loves to chase her toys, and is fantastic about using her litter box. She enjoys some attention, but is very good at keeping herself entertained. We have harness trained her and soon she'll be going with us on adventure walks. We aspire (aspire being the key word, haha!) to eat healthy and have things like a Vitamix, dehydrator, spiralizer and are happy to share with you! Some random things that we are interested in or do are... staying healthy, keeping a super clean house, recycling and composting, sleeping in late on our days off, speaking Spanish, listening to music, hummingbirds, flowers, ice cream and fudge brownies, playing cards, laughing loudly, making lip balm, NETFLIX!, YouTube binging, visiting parks, the great outdoors, superhero movies, independent movies, good booze and bad supernatural tv. **THE HOUSE and NEIGHBORHOOD:** Modern, 3 bedroom 3-1/2 bathroom townhouse. It has 3 stories with 2 sets of staircases (14 steps each). Large common areas, small balcony off of the main floor, small backyard with patio, gas fireplace, modern kitchen with dishwasher and garbage disposal, laundry washer and dryer. The house is very clean and mold free. It's located near S. Lucile St. and 15th Ave S. A 5-minute walk into the heart of colorful Georgetown, a 1-minute drive off of I-5, and a 10 to 15 minute drive into downtown depending on traffic. Beautiful Columbia City is only 2 miles away with its own restaurants, theaters, parks and grocery stores. It's on the #60, #124, #107, #50 and #36 bus lines, and we a 5 minute bus ride to the Link Light Rail. If you have a vehicle, there is plenty of street parking available. No private parking available. We are across the street from a delicious bakery/coffee shop, a 2-minute drive to an awesome year round produce stand, a 2 to 5 minute drive to the nearest grocery, Latin, and Asian markets, restaurants and bars, a gym, and even a liiibrary, woot! ;-) For recreation, we are next to the Chief Sealth trail, the Cleveland Play Field w/ running track, 52 acre Jefferson Park, and the Beacon Hill Food Forest. Great location and great home that's located in a friendly family neighborhood, with lot's of diverse folks that smile and wave as they walk by. I have lived on this block for eight years now and I love it. **THE ROOM:** Available to view now and will be rented empty and unfurnished. Available to move in now if you need it. This is a medium sized bedroom with high vaulted ceilings (queen sized loft beds fit great!). Large west facing windows that get nice sunset light, this bedroom is on the top floor and has the largest closet in the house w/ an upper shelf, private in room bathroom (shower, no tub) with heated tile flooring. All the bedrooms having their own private bathrooms has been a REALLY nice perk. Rent is $895.00 per month. The room will be available for move in on September 1st (perhaps late August). ((SIDE NOTE: There is no extra storage space in the house. All of your personal items will need to go into your bedroom or in your designated kitchen cupboards and shelves. If they don't fit, you'll need to store them someplace else. This room is not ideal for someone who owns a bicycle or a kayak.)) **THE HARD FACTS:** Smoke Free: Per chronic health issues we need to live with people who are nonsmokers and who also want to live in a smoke free home. Sorry, but that includes not smoking pot or burning incense. Candles are OK! 420 friendly (as in vaping, tinctures, or edibles), just NOT smoke friendly. Meat Free: We have all really enjoyed living in a vegetarian home and are continuing this tradition. This would be a great home for veg friendly people or for someone who doesn't think it's a big deal to not have meat in the house. It is not necessary for you to be vegetarian or vegan as long as you are respectful by keeping it out of the house (in case you were wondering, fish is meat. So is bacon). No Boob Tube: We don't have a TV or streaming services, but there is super, duper fast high speed internet that runs $20 per month and we binge watch our shows in our rooms. Yay Netflix! Pretty Mellow: This house is quiet, private, and doesn't party. We all go to bed early due to our morning work schedules. That being said, it is not unusual for roommates to hang out in the kitchen and have ridiculous laughing sessions. We RARELY have anyone over, maaaaaybe once a year we'll have a couple of friends or family come by. You are more than welcome to have a couple of friends over, as long as you are courteous with our sleep schedules. Overnight Guests: With overnight guests, we ask that it’s no more than 2 nights per week, and that they be in your tightknit circle of close friends or a significant other. (Sorry, no couch surfers or out of town bands that need a place to crash!) Clean House: Shoes off. New carpet. Weekly chore chart. You get the picture. Pets: We are super sorry, but unfortunately we are not allowed to have any anymore pets. **MOVE IN DETAILS:** -The room will be available for move in on October 1st (it's actually available now if you need to move in before 10/1). To move in you need your first and last month's rent and a $625 security deposit. The deposit is 100% refundable! -The application process is a third party screening that includes a basic background, credit, employment and rental history check. -Utilities/electricity/gas/internet are split evenly between all roommates and average around $100 per person per month depending on the time of year. -This is a 3 MONTH lease with option to renew and stay longer. I would love to find roommates who will stay longer. **Things that are important for this happy household are...** Cleaning up after yourself. Doing your part of the weekly chore chart. Respecting your fellow roommates (like NOT getting into their stuff and space). Being friendly. We don't have to be best-ies, but we would really like to live with friendly people who don't always just hide away in their rooms and who enjoy the occasional chit chat. Living with strangers feels a bit weird, ya? Clear, calm, and honest communication is required. (Things are going to happen. Let's just talk about it now, so it doesn’t boil over later) So far we've been really fortunate to have had many like minded roommates who do not enjoy or bring in roommate drama. We're super hopeful that we can continue this great streak!! **YOU:** Practice non-violent communication and are comfortable with (respectful) problem solving. You are responsible, at least 25 years old OR have previous experience living with roommates. Speak enough English for clear communication. You have a steady job with consistent income and can pay rent on time. You are a clean and tidy person; in fact, it would be FANTASTIC if you leaned on the neat freak/germaphobia side and have the self motivation to routinely clean without being told. You have great communication skills. (Have I said this before? ;-)) Be someone who gels well with other personalities, and is accepting of differing cultures and backgrounds. You have common sense respect, like being quiet when someone has to get up early. You can be from any culture, be any gender (trans or cis) or sexual orientation. It would be a perk if you also speak Spanish, have a sense of humor, or have special crime fighting abilities. (That last part is a joke people!! But, it would be cool.) Phew! You made it!
