Hello! Our roommate is moving out of NYC, so we’re looking for someone to fill her room in our lovely Park Slope apartment for October 1st. The apartment is a 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom, 4th-floor walk-up. About us: You’ll share the apartment with me (Beata), Julia, and our 15lb mini dachshund named Maya. We’re both in our 30’s, and Maya is a 5-year-old pandemic pup. I work for a nonprofit in the city with a hybrid schedule, usually going to the office at least 3 days a week. Maya is a super lazy dog who loves to snooze all day, but she’ll happily accept attention and cuddles. Julia works as a musician and dog walker with a fluid schedule. I’ve lived in this apartment since 2016, and really made it a home. We’re quiet, friendly, and keep a clean, welcoming space. We’re progressive and an LGBTQ+ friendly household. You: We’re looking for someone who is preferably in their 30s, non-smoker (no cigarettes or 4/20), and responsible about paying rent and bills on time. You should take initiative to keep common areas neat and clean and view the apartment as a place to relax and unwind. Although Covid isn’t as much of a concern as it once was, we’re still a health-conscious home. We’re vaccinated and take precautions like wearing masks in common areas if someone gets sick. As I am immune-compromised, we ask that you respect these practices as well. You should love dogs and be comfortable sharing the space with Maya. Small dogs are welcome! If you have a dog and are selected to see the room, please bring your dog along so we can ensure they’ll coexist happily. Sorry, no cats, birds, reptiles, or rodents. The room: The room is on the smaller size, but has a huge closet. It fits a twin bed, a small desk, and a night stand. The neighborhood: Park Slope is a fantastic area with restaurants, bars, supermarkets, laundromats, and easy access to the F, G, and R subway lines. Plus, we’re near Prospect Park. Details: Rent is $750/month, with first month’s rent and a security deposit required to move in (total upfront cost: $,1700). Utilities (electric, gas, and internet) and apartment supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, basic cleaning supplies) are included in the rent. The lease is month-to-month with a 30-day notice when moving out. Preference will be given to those seeking a long-term commitment. If you’re interested, please send us a bit about yourself. We will likely do a quick Zoom screening call before scheduling an in-person visit. Looking forward to hearing from you! Beata, Julia, and Maya
