FEMALE applicants only please. 85 year old elderly couple is seeking a live-in caregiver / helper (room for 1 person only). In exchange for providing help to the elderly couple (husband and wife), the helper will receive a bedroom free of rent. The bedroom is approximately 132 sq ft and includes a private entrance/exit. The room also includes a closet and private bathroom (toilet and sink). The room is furnished with a twin bed, mini-refrigerator, microwave, TV and hot plate. The occupant will also have access to the shared washer, dryer, and full kitchen. In addition, a small closet and full bath is accessible just outside the bedroom. The husband and wife have been married for 62 years and are in need of someone who can not only provide companionship but also help with daily chores, activities and errands. Examples of the type of help needed include: • Driving to/from appointments (doctor, dentist, etc) • Driving and/or help with getting groceries • Small household chores (e.g. help clean kitchen) • Depending on skills, maybe help with outside yardwork • Other help/assistance as agreed If the occupant is working during the week, help can be confined to evening and weekend hours. It is expected that the occupant will provide between 12 – 16 hours of help per week. At this point, occupants are mostly self-sufficient but at some point may need extra help beyond what is initially requested. The potential helper MUST be FEMALE (any appropriate age).
