Plant People Northwest is a small, sustainable landscaping company. Our service area includes North Seattle, Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, and Magnolia. We seek an experienced gardener/ horticulture grad to join our year-round crew. We’re accepting applications for part time (minimum 3 days/week) and full time. Our schedule is from 8-4, Monday through Friday (no weekends). This is a year-round position. Your daily work will include weeding, mulching, planting, pruning, fertilizing and more. You’ll also assist on installation projects from time to time. We generally do not mow lawns, except as a special favor to a client. We maintain our gardens without the use of toxic chemicals, with a focus on soil health and "right plant, right place". We pride ourselves on skillful pruning and have attended many classes with Plant Amnesty. We use mainly hand tools and only electric power tools. Our design and project team installs plantings, patios, raised beds, microspray irrigation, and more. Basic Qualifications: • Work history showing 1+ years of professional gardening experience with a Western WA, horticulture-focused company, OR a hort degree/ certification (or both!) • A working knowledge of plant and weed ID, horticulture and pruning practices. • Enthusiasm, energy, and stamina. • A cooperative, helpful, positive personality. • Adaptability with challenges, setbacks, and changes of direction. • An intuitive knowledge of how to work briskly and "look busy". • A self-directed desire to learn and grow! • Have a clean driving record, a reliable vehicle for transportation to job sites, and a smartphone for accessing our calendar and other tools. Pay and Benefits: Starting pay is $22-24 DOE. If you have ample experience/credentials and leadership qualities, we will move you into crew leadership as quickly as possible, which would come with an additional raise. Our crew lead in training make $26 and our crew leads start at $27. Our business prepares approx 3000 tax returns each calendar year. We are seeking up to five candidates to be employed as tax preparers for the upcoming tax season. Employment will extend from mid January to mid April. Full training is provided and is compulsory to be eligible for employment. Hours of employment will vary between 10-7 weekdays and 10-6 weekends. Part time hours are minimum 15 hours per week. Full time hours are 40 hours plus overtime if necessary per week. This is a seasonal position which will end April 15 2026. Ideal candidates will be good with computers and accurate keyboard and ten key use; friendly with clients and other staff; dress appropriately (business casual); punctual for shifts; have own transport; speak fluent English; have some previous office experience. Our office is a relaxed environment which can very from steady to extremely busy at a moments notice. Hopefully our candidates will to some degree be able to adapt to these sudden changes. Tax class will run 5 weeks Tuesdays and Thursdays 4pm thru 8pm commencing November 4th concluding December 9th. A certificate of completion will be provided to both those who join the class but do not intend to seek employment and to those who intend accepting employment.
