Job Summary: The Director of Quality plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of the Quality and Technical functions of the Business Unit.  This individual is responsible for the performance of all department functions — the Customer Quality department, the Supplier Quality department and the Internal Quality department. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage oversight on all compliance related activities concerning regulatory and industry standards such as FAA, EASA, ISO, OSHA, etc. Direct customer facing liaison on multiple topics; including configuration, documentation, maintenance, regulatory requirements, non-conforming products, and general support Troubleshoot system, LRUs, cabling and etc. to resolve reported issues and concerns Support an environment conducive to the successful support of IFE/avionic equipment Work with internal teams, customers and partners/vendors to resolve installation and field related issues and concerns Lead suppliers related issues and concerns to ensure product maintenance and reliability Review and approve the implementation of Quality and Technical plans that support the Operations Master Plan Lead the Material Review Board process and ensure a less than a week turn around. Support the New Product Return process Lead the Non-Conforming Products process between Customers, Suppliers and internally Support the New Product Introduction and Transfer of Work processes Train and provide coaching and mentoring as needed. Specific focus on Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA), Continuous improvement and 8D Lead the FAI / APQP deployment plan at SPI and its suppliers Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering 10+ years of experience working in a similar role 8+ years or more related experience with continuous improvement 7+ years of experience working in an Management role Strong Problem-Solving skills (8D, RCCA) Kanban (pull system) experience preferred Certified Six Sigma and lean enterprise methodology preferred Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to interface with all levels of management Advanced computer experience to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment Benefits The starting pay range for this position is $137,300 - $164,800 per year however, base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. Responsibilities & Duties Multi-trade complex building construction and renovation inspector, responsible for scheduling, coordinating, performing general field inspection for all disciplines. Inspects work at the site(s) for contract and code compliance, proficient with construction management software like E-Builder. Recommend approvals or rejections of materials and workmanship as appropriate; monitor labor and safety requirements; complete written inspection reports, records of defects; and omissions; and similar activities. Responsible for quality assurance of the overall project, including evaluating workmanship, quality of work, and inspecting work per construction documents (drawings/specifications). Establish detailed inspection requirements, schedules and controls methods under a QC procedure. Inspects work done to ensure that it is in accordance with specifications and drawings. Report labor standards interviews for compliance with Davis-Bacon Act findings to the AOC COTR for action. Monitor all construction activities scheduled with emphasis on milestones, phasing/sequencing, completion date, submittals, efficient and balanced work flow, major tests, and any unique requirements needing special scheduling or tracking. Informs the COTR/CM on the progress of construction work and any activities that impact AOC and or contract completion date. Provide site photos to be uploaded daily into the AOC’s photo management software. Prepare information for the AOC weekly Project Report, reviews Final Report. Inspect work done to ensure that it is in accordance with specifications and drawings. Monitor and inspect the GC's compliance with current safety regulations, standards, the Project Safety Plan, and report any noncompliance to the COR/PM/CM. Immediately notify the Government when any life-threatening conditions are observed and provide assistance as necessary to remedy such situations. Prepare any Accident and Incident Reports as instructed by the COR/PM/CM. Complete daily reports of construction activities in PMIS software daily. Coordinate with AOC Testing Service Contractor(s). The AOC may hire independent testing agencies to inspect the Work performed by the GC. The Contractor is responsible for coordinating and arranging site visits between the testing agencies and the GC. The testing agencies will file all Field Reports with the Government. The Contractor is responsible for maintaining all reports on the project site and coordinates with the COR/PM/CM to verify that the GC corrects deficient work. Provide support to the Senior Project Manager in all design reviews prior and during construction. Provide pre-construction, during construction and post-construction photos of the site. Provide project coordination and construction quality assurance services for the technical aspect of the project. The inspector shall physically verify correct materials delivered and/or in secured storage on or off site, proper materials installed, and percentage of work satisfactorily completed and in place and provide this information to the CM.
