Prep Welder (Aerospace & Defense) 2nd Shift Typically 3pm to 11:30pm

Even if you haven't passed Aluminum and Stainless Steel just yet, we're offering this opportunity to try the role for 6-months and continue to level up on all of the metals. If you pass within the 6-month trial period...the role will officially become your new position. If you do not pass, you will be able to return to your former role at your former pay. A TIG Welder will be experienced in stainless steel and aluminum, as well as MIG welding processes and various grinding tools. Responsibilities: Read and interpret welding blueprints, technical schematics, and codes Use gas tungsten arc equipment as part of the fabrication process Measure and align workpieces using straightedges, clamps, and calipers Carry out grinding and thermal cutting operations to obtain various textures and sizes for metal parts Oversee the set-up of TIG welding equipment Operate power and hand tools such as arc welders, buffing machine, and scrapers Maintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium Carry out preventative maintenance and repair of piping systems and metal structures Ensure welding operations meet set specifications and construction requirements Ensure compliance with established health/safety policies and regulations Other duties as assigned Afternoon shift works 3pm to 11:30 pm Monday to Friday and/or some weekend shifts available too Shift work receives an additional, hourly shift differential Requirements 2+ years experience with TIG and/or exotic metals High school diploma or GED certificate Completion of technical training or apprenticeship Knowledge of both TIG and MIG welding preferred Aerospace/Aviation experience a plus Welding certification preferred Must have strong attention to detail to ensure the quality of each weld and the safety of the workplace Must be able to perform on physical requirements of the role (standing on feet 8-hours or more, lifting 50 lbs) Must be able to pass TAT Limco welding test to receive job offer Must have ability to pass pre-hire and ongoing, random drug testing as required as a Department of Transportation (DOT) facility regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Must be able to pass pre-hire background check screening Benefits TAT Technologies Group is dedicated to providing an inclusive, fun, and unique workplace.
