3Yr Old Blue Tick Hound-Rehoming (West Jordan)

Sad story! I'm a dog boarder/sitter and accepted a 3 year old neutered Blue Tick Hound named "Badger." His owner and girlfriend were headed to Burning Man. I was supposed to take care of him until Sep 2nd. Owner didn't show. No response to texts or on his fb page. A quick search revealed that the owner was apparently arrested at Burning Man and is in jail for an unknown time frame. Can't keep Badger past this weekend, because I have other clients dropping off their dogs who are special needs (aggression etc) and need to be the only dog at my place during their stay. (I specialize in hard to handle dogs of all sizes). Badger is a really good boy! He never barks, unless you take him on a car ride to the dog park. He loves other dogs, people and especially children! Not sure about cats. He is laid back. Wakes up around 7.30ish and sometimes wants breakfast and sometimes not. I tested him out and he is OK being left alone for 4hrs. NO CRATE NEEDED. He doesn't chew. Doesn't destroy anything. He just sleeps. I would love for him to find a forever home with a decent size yard, maybe a kiddy pool and someone who will love him! He came apparently originally from an abusive home, but it doesn't show. If you or someone you know would love to give Badger a peaceful, safe home, maybe even with another dog (should be neutered/spayed,since he doesn't like to get humped), please contact me.
