QUALIFICATIONS WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Ideally 5+ years of previous experience heading up projects for another established landscape design firm or experience working on their own larger-scale projects. Formal education in landscape / hardscape design. Upbeat and driven to create stunning environments that positively impact people's lives. Knowledge of Mediterranean plantings and their characteristics, growth habits, ideal planting conditions, etc. Experience working with hardscape material vendors so as to research and specify materials for a design. Ability to speak and write in English fluently. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not necessary. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills with clients and contractors. A positive, self-starter attitude. Able to confidently and smoothly present a complete design to a client, and run the whole design through from initial consultation, preparing and presenting design, detailing out the design elements, coordinating outside engineers / consultants, turning design over to contractor for bidding, and design coordination during installation phase. Has reliable transportation with a valid current drivers license. Proficient with AutoCAD is a plus but not necessary. Proficiency with Sketchup or another rendering software is a plus but not necessary. A portfolio of luxury residential work is key. COMPENSATION: Project-based compensation either as a flat fee or hourly proposed by you. We would pay you as an independent contractor and you would represent our company with our clients.
